Just pics

Mockingbirds are very shy and rarely present a good target. With my 300mm X1.4 I was finally able to get one. Without a tripod, too! Yay!

Something I always wanted to do, but never had the right equipment for: the trailing lights of the freeways. Very common photo trick, but it felt good to finally get it myself.

Hi Mariam,

I have been following your blog off and on for the last couple of years. I was fascinated by your move to Armenia and lived vicariously through your experiences and others’ whose blogs I also followed.

I am considering moving myself, although it will take tremendous convincing on my part to get my husband to take the plunge. We were both born in Yerevan and moved with our families to the US when we were kids, me at age ten and him at age five. We are both 28 now. We are both educated and career minded and have a very settled life here.

However, I have an unsettling feeling in me that makes me feel I am not where I am supposed to be. I have an urge to live in Armenia, to be one with my motherland and people on our soil. I feel incomplete. I haven’t been back in 18 years. Though I have vivid memories, I am sure they are more romantic than the reality. We are planning a trip in August of next year to visit. But I want to do more then visit!

So I write to you for your advice as you have moved there and back. Any insight is appreciated.

Please respond to me if possibl at my email address: ovsepyank@aol.com

Thanks,

Kristine
